Paul Walker, our beloved Fast & Furious’ Brian O’Connor, died this Saturday afternoon after a car accident in Valencia, CA, at the age of 40 years old.
As soon as I heard about the news of his death, I felt compelled to write about it, as a reminder that life indeed is a very thin line. His car was spotted on the side of the street in flames with two bodies trapped inside.
The official message, posted on his official Facebook page, states:
“It is with a truly heavy heart that we must confirm that Paul Walker passed away today in a tragic car accident while attending a charity event for his organization Reach Out Worldwide. He was a passenger in a friend’s car, in which both lost their lives. We appreciate your patience as we too are stunned and saddened beyond belief by this news. Thank you for keeping his family and friends in your prayers during this very difficult time. We will do our best to keep you apprised on where to send condolences”
How odd that after all those car stunts that made him famous, he died in a car accident. As poetic it may sounds, like James Dean’s epic death, this is very sad. I grew to believe that death is a part of life and that we have to learn to embrace it, though this feels so premature.
There’s a lot beyond life on earth, but that’s the one thing we have now, so let’s cherish it. Drive safe people.
Goodbye Paul Walker, you will be missed.
